The Maine Irish Heritage Center is a community that draws people in for diverse reasons. They have volunteer genealogists onsite who help people trace their Irish roots. They are home to the Irish American Club of Greater Portland, the Claddagh Mohr Pipe and Drum band, and the Portland Hurling Club. They are the winter home of the Portland Farmers Market, and are home base to A Company of Girls, an award winning theatre group for at-risk teenage girls. They also host events attended by thousands of people each year.
The Maine Irish Heritage Center is run entirely by volunteers.
